How to Prepare for Your Mobile Appointment

A little preparation before your technician arrives helps the job go smoothly and on time:

Park on a level surface. A flat, stable surface is required for safe removal and installation. Sloped driveways may not be suitable for full replacements.
Allow at least 10 feet of clearance on the side of the vehicle where the damaged glass is located. Your technician needs room to work and to stage equipment.
Remove items from the dashboard and rear deck. Anything sitting on or near the dashboard can be dislodged during replacement. Clear the area before the technician arrives.
Disable your alarm system or be present to manage it. Vibration during glass removal can trigger vehicle alarms.
Check the forecast. Mobile replacements require dry conditions and temperatures above approximately 40 degrees Fahrenheit for the adhesive to cure correctly. We monitor weather and will contact you proactively if conditions require rescheduling.
Make sure the vehicle is accessible. If you will not be present during the appointment, confirm that someone can provide access to the vehicle and be available by phone in case we have questions.

Service Window and Job Duration

Full windshield replacements typically take 60 to 90 minutes on-site. After installation, you will need to observe a safe drive-away period before moving the vehicle. We will give you the exact wait time before we leave.
Arrival windows are scheduled in advance. If your technician is running early or delayed, we will contact you so you are not waiting without information.
Weather delays: If conditions deteriorate before your appointment, we will call to reschedule at the earliest available time. We do not perform replacements in rain or temperatures that would compromise the adhesive bond.

What Mobile Service Cannot Accommodate

Mobile service is suitable for most standard windshield repairs and replacements, but there are situations where an in-shop appointment is the better option:

ADAS static calibration requires a controlled indoor environment with calibration targets and diagnostic equipment. If your vehicle needs static calibration after replacement, we will coordinate an in-shop calibration appointment as part of the service. See our ADAS Calibration page for details.
Severely damaged vehicles with compromised body structure around the glass opening may require in-shop assessment before glass can be safely installed.
Adverse weather conditions including rain, snow, and temperatures below 40 degrees Fahrenheit prevent safe mobile replacement. Chip repairs have more flexibility but are still weather-dependent.
